QUALIFIED TEACHERS

It takes a great staff to create a great camp! Specialty classes will be taught by qualified teachers with extensive experience teaching children in their specialty areas. Our counselors are carefully selected based on education, camp and teaching experience, a love of working with children and lots of high energy! Our entire staff (including CIT's) will participate in a week long in-service training as well as ongoing staff education throughout the summer.

COUNSELORS-IN-TRAINING

Entering 10th-12th grade
The JCC Counselor-In-Training program gives teens an exceptional summer opportunity that combines development of teaching, leadership skills, and creative thinking. Each participant gains self-confidence working alongside camp leadership, assisting in planning programs, and teaching activities with the younger campers. CIT's will choose specialty classes in which they would like to develop their skills and will meet regularly to share experiences, learn from each other and gain new leadership skills. This program is designed to provide teenagers a valuable summer experience through which to meet other teens, develop their self-esteem, and gain important job skills for future positions working with children.

Teens selected to be in our CIT program will receive a weekly stipend and must be able to be at camp from 8:30am to 4:00pm each weekday.
(Note: CITS-call ext.130 for application information.)

SAFE AND SOUND

Creating a safe and secure environment is our highest priority. All staff receives first aid/safety training. Emergency procedures are reinforced for each new session. Each child's physical and emotional well-being is our highest concern and priority and each camper is closely supervised, both on and off-site.

FAMILY SHABBAT

Come celebrate with your child or children, and the entire camp staff at family Shabbat!, held the last Friday of each session on July 21st, and August 18th. This is a great opportunity for you to see what we have been working on during camp. Campers will perform for you their drama skits, stories, and music, with an art show from the Jewish arts and crafts class. With food, friends, families, and fun, it's a wonderful time to reinforce the feeling of community the children have built during the session.
